It all started in a little apartment on Via Guerrazzi in Bologna, Italy about two and a half years ago.

I wanted to bake bread while studying abroad because it's my passion and it makes me happy.

So I started a sourdough starter, named him Benny (short for Bentivoglio), and set up a makeshift dutch oven using a pot I found on the side of the road.

Now, back in California, I wanted to share bread made from my Italian starter with my friends and neighbors!
